Travel plans
Take a cue from [info]stangerous, I hereby do request that people point out stuff I may have missed from the following list of stuff to take with me when I leave:

  • ID: wallet & passport
  • primary clothes: shirts, underwear, socks, pants
  • secondary clothes: shoes/sandals, gloves, scarf, sweater, jacket
  • toiletries: toothbrush, razor, deodorant
  • personal electronics: camera, charger, card-reader, iPod, cables
  • books to read

I shall be flying into Terminal 2 of YYZ at 8pm on Saturday via United on flight 8516. After taking the TTC home I will try to spend some time with my family and [info]imlex for a bit before going to bed.

On Sunday I will take the Greyhound to Waterloo in the morning and have lunch with [info]a_chatterbox and anybody else who wants to see me before watching a movie (probably Narnia) at Galaxy with Laura and anybody else who wants to tag along. Then I shall take the Greyhound home again to spend most of Monday with my family, minus a trip to the Paramount cinema at John/Richmond to watch Syriana with [info]blue_lightning at 4pm. On Tuesday morning I leave for Australia.

Syriana was good, if a little long and confusing.
And depressing too.
Some woman in our theatre kept whispering "tsk-tsk-tsk" throughout the whole thing. It got old fast. But she probably won't see it again, so you're in luck. I give it two thumbs up for gore, violence and political scandal.

Spuc is probably the simplest meeting place but we can go eat someplace else (like University Plaza).

If you're actually seriously offering (and if you mean the Galaxy in Waterloo), I'd love to see Narnia. If you're actually seriously not, then I seriously withdraw that comment.

Boo meeting at SPUC! Can't we have lunch at the pizza place around BA's? :P Although gyros from Phat Cat may be worth the walk. When are we lunching? Can you build me a transporter for Christmas?

If you do see Narnia, I'd like to see a review from at least one of you. I've seen it and have my opinions, but I don't want to bias you before you see it.

It was pretty much exactly what I expected from having seen the low-budget British video of the story years ago.

If you can make it downtown in time I don't see why not.

If you're coming to oz, I would strongly advise that you bring a hat and sunglasses as well (the sunglasses are the most important). Also, I'm not sure if this happens to you, but I tend to get very dehydrated on long flights. I bring my own bottle of water and a small snack for the overnight portion of the long leg of the flight as they sometimes don't feed you for a several hours, assuming you are sleeping through the whole flight (I can only catnap).

Can I get away with buying a pair of shades in Sydney (or maybe Canberra) when I get there, since I don't have any and it would more interesting to have Aussie shades?

I also tend to get dehydrated but I generally get by with the drinks that are provided on the flights. Snacks are almost certainly a good idea though, given my appetite.

So is a bottle of water. The last time I flew I was prettyglad to have my own, even though they'll give you water, it's less convenient to wait for them/look for them. Although that makes you move, which is good on a long flight, but annoying if you don't have the aisle seat.

That's a good point. I should try to get an aisle seat when I board my flight on Tue!
